Clubs & Activities
St. Mark School provides many opportunities for students to participate in after-school clubs & activities. School clubs allow students to bond, strengthen school spirit, express their God-given talents, and explore different interests outside the classroom. The following is a list of school clubs and extracurriculars.
Alter Servers
Students in 4th grade and above are invited to serve as altar servers, assisting the priest during Mass and other liturgical ceremonies with reverence and attentiveness. This is a meaningful way to deepen faith and serve our parish.
School Band
We offer both beginner and advanced band, where students learn instruments like flute, saxophone, and drums. Being part of an ensemble fosters growth and helps develop various skills, making it a rewarding experience for every musician
Battle of the Books
The Battle of the Books is a reading program for grades 4-8 that inspires students to read and compete in trivia battles. Elementary students collaborate with peers, while middle school teams, led by a teacher coach, compete in events hosted byBCPLS.
Black Student Union
The Black Student Union at St. Mark School celebrates Black culture, history, and identity, providing a space for students to connect and foster unity, leadership, and community involvement.
Digital Media Club
St. Mark’s digital media club is a combination of the yearbook club and Paw Print Newspaper. Students will use their writing, drawing, and design skills to create several different editions for our school community! Students will also learn audio and video skills that will help in the newsroom.
Green Team
St. Mark School is a proud Green School! We’re forming a team for grades 5-8 to lead eco-friendly activities like composting, gardening, and recycling. Team members will create posters, expand recycling efforts, and promote going green to help the environment.
It’s Academic
The It’s Academic Team represents St. Mark in trivia matches and the spring tournament against other area Catholic schools.This is the perfect way for a student to showcase their knowledge
National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society is for middle school students in grades 6-8. Eligible students who meet scholarship requirements can apply by showcasing their service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
Student Council
The St. Mark Student Council, led by our principal and vice principal, empowers students to impact their school and community through leadership, citizenship, scholarship, and cultural values, fostering collaboration and connections.
Robotics
Robotics is for students in grades 5-6 and 7-8. Participants learn to build, program, design, and operate robots, while working on innovative projects and developing problem-solving skills.
