Signature Programs at St. Mark School

St. Mark School is a place that recognizes children as unique individuals and encourages all students to realize their God-given gifts and talents. In keeping with the mission of our school which is to instill self-confidence, intellectual curiosity, and strong academic performance through instruction based on the strengths of students’ various learning styles we offer a variety of signature programs for our students including: 

The Whatley Program

This innovative program is designed to meet the needs of students of average and above-average intelligence, with a documented learning disability, in grades K-8.

The program is staffed by highly qualified special education teachers, with the assistance of part-time aides,  who design specific programs to meet the personal learning needs of each child.  Small group sizes and a modified curriculum for Language Arts and Math are hallmarks of the program. STEM Program

At St. Mark, STEM is integrated across the curriculum to prepare students for 21st-century success. Lessons in research, digital citizenship, creativity, and collaboration are taught through a Catholic lens, emphasizing faith, values, and respect for all. This approach fosters academic growth and reinforces Catholic identity.

1. STEM Education

STEM classes at St. Mark School are integrated from Pre-K through 8th grade, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and innovation at every level. Coding is introduced in the lower grades, with hands-on tools like Ozobots enhancing critical thinking skills. Students also develop digital design and communication abilities using platforms like Canva, creating videos, flyers, and more, which have elevated the quality of our morning announcements.

2. Extracurricular Activties

STEM focused extracurricular activities include: Robotics, Arts & Crafts Club, Morning Announcements, and the Digital Media Club

3. NorthBay Adventure Camp

Each year, St. Mark students enjoy a 5-day, 4-night immersive experience at NorthBay Outdoor School. This program combines hands-on outdoor education with lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Through activites like environmental investigations, high-adventure challenges, and the engaging NorthBay Live program, students explore how their activities impact their fture, community, and environment – all while building character and creating unforgettable memories. 

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Members of the St. Mark School National Junior Honor Society demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. They have achieved and will maintain a GPA of 3.75 or above throughout their Middle School Years. They demonstrate the highest standards of honesty.
